Lucy Jenkins Workshop

Lucy Jenkins

Session 1 at 10am – 1pm (£50 per person)
Session 2 at 2pm – 5pm (£50 per person)

3rd June

Lucy is one half of Jenkins McShane Casting.
She is a member of the CDG and BAFTA.

With over 20 years’ experience between them, Sooki and Lucy have been in partnership for the last 8 years. Their projects have been varied and range from War Horse in the West End and on tour, The Play That Goes Wrong and Comedy About A Bank Robbery for Mischief Theatre (West End and tour), all of Nottingham Playhouse’s output (including most recently ‘Touched’ with Vicky McClure), to last year’s feature films Bliss! and The Comedian’s Guide to Survival. They also have cast shows for Cardboard Citizens, Red Ladder and several productions for The Bunker and The Park Theatre.
Upcoming work includes a national tour of The Railway Children, Alice in Wonderland for the Rose Kingston and feature films Arthur and Merlin and The Revenger.

Auditioning can often be fraught and confusing and in this overcrowded profession the actor often doesn’t get feedback after an audition so doesn’t get the chance to learn from his or her mistakes. In her workshops, Lucy deconstructs and de-mystifies the process from start to finish with the aim of empowering the actor and helping them to ‘get through the door’. Working on scripts, the workshop will take the form of a ‘mock audition’ followed by feedback and finally a Q & A session where the attendees can voice concerns, ask for advice or even have a general moan! There is much out of the control of the actor, but let’s work at controlling the controllables!

As a member of the CDG, her workshops follow their guidelines and are not an audition but a chance for professional development.
